Our present deeds decide
our future and past deeds decide our present. Hindus believe in rebirth
and say that effects of deeds are carried forward to next birth. Our
good deeds give us happiness in reaction and evil deeds cause suffering
in equal proportion. If you endeavour to give happiness to others bliss
awaits you and if you inflict afflictions on others and make their life
miserable, soon you would call yourself an accursed. If we want to
safeguard ourselves from effects of misdeeds, we should endeavour, as
much as possible, to engage our mind in good deeds.
deeds good or bad, subdue one’s mind and become part of
mental impressions. Evil mental impressions incite for further sinful
and devastating action. In the same way good mental impressions give
encouragement for doing propitious and beneficial work. More and more
accumulation of misdeeds would cause one day equally forceful reaction.
Bad elements, smugglers and terrorists being gunned down by their
counterparts give ample evidence for the theory of action and reaction.
